Opening Circle / Orientation / Connecting and Intros

(Various Presenters):

We welcome each other into the camp community and go over the nuts-and-bolts of camp culture and logistics. Let's find out who's here and what we have to offer each other! We'll spend much of the time moving around, meeting new folks and deepening existing relationships.

Growing Your Connections -
Fun with the land, yourself & each other:
A Sensual Tour of La'akea  with Tracy Matfin

Learn about how we work with nature to create a beautiful and functional environment on our farm. We will walk along our paths and find lots of berries, flowers and leaves to nibble on the way.

Early Morning Yoga and Meditation:
A space will be available for this, led by camp attendees,
as desired.

Morning Dance and Pod Meetings:

We start each morning with a time to dance!  And then meet in small groups to check in about your experiences at camp.

Morning Circle:
An important part of camp!  We start each camp morning with a circle to re-connect and learn about what's happening that day at camp. We offer appreciations to each other. This is a time to express any concerns or needs of a logistical nature. Announcements are made about karma yoga duties, the day's schedule, and descriptions of the workshops.

The Forum:

is a group process developed at the German community ZEGG to provide a stage for whatever is happening inside the person: one's true motivations, deep feelings, ideas and emotions. The Forum helps facilitate transparency, sharing and clarifying unsolved situations of daily life, and it can be a catalyst for one's own personal growth.

Creating Community, Intro to New Culture and Healthy Boundaries

with Tracy Matfin and Ray Cohen

How many of us say "yes" to things we don't actually want out of guilt or a fear of losing connection?

In many ways, "no" is the most daring and intimate response possible. If I can hear your "no", I can trust your "yes."

We'll practice the skills of self-awareness, transparency, and non-attachment, which help us find the space of mutually desired connection that is available with each person. We tend to look at boundary setting as ways we cannot connect and rarely see them as having real potential for deeper connection.

This workshops intention is to free us up to have boundaries without judgement of our selves or others.

It is also designed to help us embrace diversity, and difference and creatively interact with it authentically.

An important and fun orientation to our basic guidelines on relating to each other during camp.

If you are a new camper, this is a required event so we are all on the same page!

Authentic Relating Games and Going Deeper

with Alara Tiernan

AR games involve leaning into an edge of vulnerability (with consent) and maybe sharing that which we are disinclined to speak about. It’s not uncommon for a new awareness to arise during the course of a game. Awareness is the start.
From there, the healing is to transform, transmute, and let go.
AR games are fun, dynamic, smile-inducing, and both light hearted and potentially encompassing deeper work!

Safer Sex Information and Conversations,

 and Entering the Temple-

Amara Karuna and Ray Cohen

In a body-honoring community, we have a responsibility to educate ourselves on how to keep ourselves safe while connecting. We'll go over recommended practices, and practice talking with community and prospective partners about these issues.

We will explore the guidelines for participating in the Temple space, where we can be sensual in a respectful and safe environment.

If you have never been to a temple at camp, this workshop is required in order to enter the space.

Going to the temple is completely voluntary.  It might include spending time with one or more friends in an intimate way, or sharing in a workshop that has to do with healing, massage, etc.  There are guidelines for sharing this space in a way that is safe and comfortable for everyone, and following these guidelines is a requirement for all temple participants.

Temple space opening events will take place for the first 1/2 hour every night. including massage and sensual meditations

Men's Circle, and Gender Fluid circle, and Women's Circle:
A Sacred Circle & Check-in for people who enjoy meeting in gender groups, where every persons voice and experience is heard, valued, honored. Where every one speaks uninterrupted and who is held by the group in a solid, trust-building container.
Playful, loving, and gentle exercises to get us more and more comfortable with fully inhabiting our bodies.

You will come away with a deeper appreciation for the magic of starting small. And, with a little luck, no bruised toes!

Conscious Touch

with Sophianada Rowan

The Art of Authentic Giving and Receiving

We all long to connect with others in a meaningful way that meets us and nourishes us at soul-level. Touch, when it is the right touch, is an exquisite means of opening us to delicious and soul satisfying connection. In order to give and receive touch in such a poignant way with another, we must first be firmly rooted in our own deep connection with self. It is through holding loving space for our self, and being intimately and moment-to-moment present with our own ever-changing inner landscape on all levels, that the inner safety, self honoring and self- trust develops and our ‘Hell Yes’! and ‘’Hell No’! is bigger, more instantly recognized, honored, expressed, and enjoyed, clearing the pathways for deeper and more authentic relating with self and other, with giving and receiving.

Join me in this workshop for some fun and deep practices of deep diving into your divine essence , and rising to meet the other with even more of your true self.

Introduction to The Work of Byron Katie
                                           with Marty Epstein
The Work is self-inquiry and a process to inquire into the thoughts that bring suffering into the life. The Work of Byron Katie is a way of identifying and questioning the thoughts that cause all the anger, fear, depression, addiction, and violence in the world. As our stressful thoughts are put to four simple questions we experience the happiness of undoing those thoughts which allow our mind to return to its true, awakened, peaceful, creative nature. The Introduction to The Work is an 1 ½-2 hour experiential presentation. The format simply introduces the participants to the four questions and what Katie calls the Turnaround. The group will be given a worksheet and they will be guided through this. We will then have an opportunity to see a demonstration of The Work and close with questions and observations. The simplicity of this format and the interactions within the group create an atmosphere of ease, openness and profound learning.

This class is a chance to learn to give and receive nurturing to the pelvis, perineum and genital area within a context of safe therapeutic sessions, which can be exchanged between partners or friends, or be a beginning foundation for bodywork professionals. The focus for this event is to create a warm, loving and safe space for exploring sexual healing and pelvic release massage in an experiential way.

In this event, we will get an introduction to the sexual healing work known as Sacred spot massage.  Basic theory and intention will be presented, and students will have a change to watch the external preparatory pelvic massage on themselves.  A demonstration will be given of the internal work.
